Vatican and Ancient Rome

You will be met at the Civitavecchia port by our private English speaking guide and driver for your 90 minute drive to Rome. Along the way our guide will give you information on the sights you will visit during your exciting day in the Eternal City. The first stop will be the Vatican State. Your visit to the Vatican, and its glorious art treasures, will be a highlight of your stay in Rome. View the vast collection of art and antiquities in the Vatican Museums; a guided tour takes you to the Candelabra Gallery, Map Gallery and the Tapestries.Visit the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo's ceiling fresco depicting the history of creation and the Last Judgment overlooks Italian art masterpieces. Visit St. Peter's Basilica, surrounding the world's largest church. While Bernini designed most of the works found in the church, Michelangelo's Pieta is also housed here. Explore St. Peter's Square. In the afternoon you will enjoy a panoramic city tour, see the most important of the Seven Hills of Rome, the Capitoline - home of Jupiter, Marcello's Theatre and the Jewish Ghetto. You will be awed by the view of the ancient Imperial Palaces atop the Palatine Hill overlooking the Circus Maximum, where the Rape of the Sabines occurred. Back on foot to visit the famous Colosseum, the Arch of Titus and one of the best preserved Roman structures - the Arch of Constantine. Next you will view the Roman Forum, Trajan's Column and the astounding "Wedding Cake" Monument to Victor Emmanuel in Piazza Venezia. The tour will end at the Trevi fountain to be sure that you will soon return to Rome. You will be transferred back to the Civitavecchia port and yoru cruise ship.

Shortly after your initial contact with our tour designers, you will receive a draft proposal based on your earlier discussions, normally within 2 business days. This proposal is a no obligation draft for your review and comments. Any additions or modifications will be implemented and a new proposal will be forwarded to you for approval.

3) You like what you see!

Upon meeting your requirements and expectations, you will be requested to send a deposit in the amount of 25% of total. Final Payment is due 45 days prior to scheduled departure date.

4) Buon viaggio!

Approximately, 2 weeks prior to departure you will receive a personalized and detailed day by day itinerary booklet and the necessary vouchers for the services to be provided, along with a general information section on the various regions of Italy.

The booklet and vouchers will include all the important information; addresses, phone & mobile numbers for all your service providers, hotels as well as the phone number of our office in Rome.
