Ostia Antica, Monumental Rome and St. Peter's

You will be met at the Civitavecchia port by our private guide and driver for your 90 minute drive to Rome. Along the way our guide will give you information on the sights you will visit during your exciting day in the Eternal City. The first stop will be Ostia Antica. The excavations cover a vast area, and a visit to the excavations shows how public and private life was lived in a Roman town. We explore the Theatre of Augustus, the Baths of the Forum, the Baths of Neptune, the "horrea"(warehouses for the storage of goods), the Senate House, the Capitol, the Temple of Rome and Augustus, the "thermopolium"(a kind of ancient-Roman bar), the House of the Muses, the House of the Fish(clearly the home of Christians), the Macellum, the House of the Charioteers and the house gardens.Leaving the coast, you are driven to the centre of Rome. You enjoy a panoramic city tour: you are awed by the view of the ancient Imperial Palaces atop the Palatine Hill overlooking the Circus Maximum, view the famous "Colosseum", the Arch of Constantine, the astounding "Wedding Cake" Monument to Victor Emmanuel in Piazza Venezia. Back on foot to visit the classic monuments of Rome: the guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, La Colonna di Marco Aurelio, the Palazzo di Montecitorio (designed by Bernini), the Pantheon (visit inside), Palazzo Madama seat of the senate and Piazza Navona.

Shortly after your initial contact with our tour designers, you will receive a draft proposal based on your earlier discussions, normally within 2 business days. This proposal is a no obligation draft for your review and comments. Any additions or modifications will be implemented and a new proposal will be forwarded to you for approval.

3) You like what you see!

Upon meeting your requirements and expectations, you will be requested to send a deposit in the amount of 25% of total. Final Payment is due 45 days prior to scheduled departure date.

4) Buon viaggio!

Approximately, 2 weeks prior to departure you will receive a personalized and detailed day by day itinerary booklet and the necessary vouchers for the services to be provided, along with a general information section on the various regions of Italy.

The booklet and vouchers will include all the important information; addresses, phone & mobile numbers for all your service providers, hotels as well as the phone number of our office in Rome.
