Murano, Burano and Torcello
By private boat you will visit the Islands of Murano and Burano. In 1291 furnaces were banned from Venice and therefore the glassware manufacturers were relocated on the Island of Murano. Glassware was an important Venetian export and the glass artisans enjoyed a privileged life and were allowed to marry into the nobility.You will be able to see the beautiful works that are still being created today in Murano on your visit to one of the workshops. Next you will visit the Island of Burano with its beautiful brightly painted houses. The island is known for its exquisite lace making. You will have time to explore the many workshops. Return to your ship after the tour.
