Day 5: Rome - Sardinia

After check out from the hotel, our representative will pick you up for your private transfer to the Rome airport. Flight to Alghero Airport (not included)

Arrival at the airport of Alghero Fertilia, and private transfer to your centrally located charming Hotel, a luxurious villa built on an exclusive pensinsula. Once a summer residence of the Italian Royal family, now a small charming 5 stars hotel. The balance of the day is at your own.

5 star hotel: Villa Las Tronas (or similar)

Day 6: Alghero and the Coral Gulf

After breakfast, visit to the “Golfo del Corallo” one of the widest natural bay in the Mediterranean, facing the city of Alghero. Stops for exceptional sights and a breathtaking visit of the Grotta of Neptun, one of Europe most scenic cave. An expert guide will lead us to the preserved Nuraghe of Palmavera built during the pre-historical, high civilization of the Sardinians, right before the Roman conquest of the island. Lunch en-route. In the afternoon guided walk around town: Alghero's landmark churches and small squares are nodes in a network of narrow, paved and cobbled ways - Italian, but with a strong flavour of Spanish and even a dash of Moorish.

 

Day 7: Sardinia West Coast

We leave Alghero southward on a highly scenic drive along the coast. In about one hour, we virtually reach the Middle-Age, with a visit to the lovely town of Bosa, with its castle and with San Pietro Extramuros’ country church.

Then up-hill and down to the seaside again and we arrive at the ancient Carthaginian stronghold of Oristano, built on reclaimed marshland and centre of Sardinian rice cultivation. On the Northern promontory of the Gulf of Oristano, we find the ruins of Tharros, in magnificent surroundings, with its original urban complexes, temple, houses, and baths is one of the most important Mediterranean complete site. In the late afternoon we drive back to Alghero.

 

Day 8: Departure

After check-out from the hotel, our representative will pick you up for your private transfer to the Alghero Airport to catch your departing flight.
