Discovering Umbria

Day 1 - Arrival

Upon arrival in Spoleto check in at your accomodation.

Day 2 - Perugia and Assisi

Your driver will meet you at your hotel for your full day excursion to the major cities of Umbria; Perugia and Assisi. Perugia, located in the heart of Italy, is a city rich in art and history. It draws Italian and international students to its two universities and many academies of art and music. The city's Etruscan walls, medieval churches, renaissance and baroque palaces still bare witness to its past splendor. For a special treat, look out for one of the local sweetshops - Perugia chocolate is famous worldwide! Continue to the hill town of Assisi, where you will meet your local guide. Exploring the town and enjoying the views are only the beginning of this great tour which takes you into the awe inspiring Basilica of St. Francis. The Basilica of Saint Francis is an artistic marvel of medieval Europe. Frescoes by Cimabue, Giotto, Simone Martini, and Pietro Lorenzetti adorn it. A 13th century historian wrote "No more exquisite monument to the Lord has been built."After your tour you will be transfered back to your accommodations.

Day 3 - Todi and Orvieto

This morning you will visit two of the major towns of UmbriaYou will stop in Orvieto, famous for its Etruscan ruins as well as its Gothic cathedral and the excellent wines preserved in its underground cellars. The imposing outline of the Duomo, the emblem of Orvieto throughout the world, stands out above the city skyline like a beacon signaling to ships in the night. For a full view of the breathtaking cityscape of Orvieto it is well worth climbing to the top of the 13th century Torre del Moro, the most central and highest point in the city, which commands a 360 degree view over the rooftops and the lush surrounding countryside. Your next stop will be the town of Todi. Built on two hills, from the top you can overlook over the valley. The main square host the most important medieval monuments of Todi: The Duomo, The Palazzo dei Capitani and the Palazzo dei Priori.

Day 4 - Departure

After checking out of your hotel, depart for your onward travel. Transfers can be arranged for your next point or the airport or rail station or add another of packages.

2) We send you a Proposal

Shortly after your initial contact with our tour designers, you will receive a draft proposal based on your earlier discussions, normally within 2 business days. This proposal is a no obligation draft for your review and comments. Any additions or modifications will be implemented and a new proposal will be forwarded to you for approval.

3) You like what you see!

Upon meeting your requirements and expectations, you will be requested to send a deposit in the amount of 25% of total. Final Payment is due 45 days prior to scheduled departure date.

4) Buon viaggio!

Approximately, 2 weeks prior to departure you will receive a personalized and detailed day by day itinerary booklet and the necessary vouchers for the services to be provided, along with a general information section on the various regions of Italy.

The booklet and vouchers will include all the important information; addresses, phone & mobile numbers for all your service providers, hotels as well as the phone number of our office in Rome.
