Heart of Italy - Small Group

Day 1 - Friday - Arrival

Upon arrival at Rome airport  make your way to your hotel in the city center.  Rest of the day free to rest or start your visit on your own.  Your host will meet you at the hotel to give you information on your program.

Day 2 - Saturday - Vatican Tour

You will be picked up at your hotel in the morning for your guided visit of the Vatican Museum.  Your tour will include various rooms that contain an astounding collection of art.  You will visit also the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of Saint Peter as well as Saint Peter’s Square. You will be transferred back to your hotel.  Afternoon free. In the evening a typical Roman dinner is included at a local restaurant.   

Day 3 - Sunday - Ancient Rome

This morning you will have free time on your own.      In the afternoon you will meet your group for your exciting tour the sites of Imperial Rome which will include the Colosseum  and the Roman Forum.   Tonight you will have another taste of Roman cuisine served  a traditional authentic Roman trattoria. Overnight in Rome.

Day 4 - Monday - Siena & San Gimignano

Depart Rome this morning for Florence.  On the way you will visit two beautiful medieval towns. Your first stop will be Siena, once an important rival of Florence.  The second stop will be the charming hill top town of San Gimignano.  After your visits you will continue to Florence.  

Day 5 - Tuesday - Florence

Your local guide will meet you for your Florence walking  tour.  You will visit the main sites of this Renaissance city.  On your walk with your expert guide you will see the Palazzo Vecchio in the Piazza della Signoria, The famous dome by Brunelleschi on the cathedral, Giotto’s bell tower, the Ponte Vecchio and the church of Santa Croce. Tonight a taste of Tuscan cuisine at a  local restaurant. Overnight in Florence.

Day 6 - Wednesday - Chianti

After breakfast you will enjoy a full day excursion in the scenic Chianti area with its beautiful vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees. During the excursion you will enjoy wine and cheese tasting. Return to Florence where this evening you will enjoy a farewell dinner in a local restaurant.Overnight in Florence.

Day 7 - Thuesday - Departure

After breakfast, make your own way to the airport or railway station for your onward travel.

In case the number of people travelling will be less or equal to 6, the tour will be operated with a tour host. The tour host will welcome the passengers upon their arrival at the Hotel and will escort the guest to the restaurants when the dinner is included.
