Italian Journey From the Lakes to Rome
Take an unforgettable journey through Italy with our 12 day program that combines privately guided sightseeing of major sights and free time to enjoy on your own.
Start in the beautiful Lake Como area with its incredible mountain scenery and elegant villas that dot the lake. Then on to Verona, the city of legendary Romeo and Juliet.
On the way to Venice, you will stop in a local winery specializing in Amarone wine. In Venice, sit in the famous St. Mark's Square, a great place to see history and people watch at the same time.
View the magnificent David by Michelangelo in the Renaissance city of Florence. Visit the medieval jewel of Tuscany, Siena, and finish in the eternal city of Rome, where your visits will include the Vatican and Sistine chapel.

Day 1 - Arrival and Transfer to Como
You will be greeted by your English speaking driver outside of the arrivals hall upon your arrival in Milan and transferred to your hotel in Lake Como.
After check in at the hotel, the rest of your first day is free for you to relax and absorb the serene atmosphere of this stunningly beautiful resort area.
Day 2 - Lake Como Tour
A picture perfect day awaits you as you start your tour of this stunning lake with your private guide.
Traveling by boat (public ferry and hydrofoil), you will have the opportunity to see the lavish villas that dot the shoreline of the lake; holiday homes to the Italian nobility of the past as well as the rich and famous of the present, among which George Clooney is one of the more popular.
You will stop at Bellagio for a chance to stroll down the streets of this famous lakeside retreat, and perhaps visit a local restaurant to sample the region's typical cuisine.
In the afternoon, return to Como by hydrofoil for a short visit of the city where you will climb to the village of Brunate by funicular. From here, 500 M(1640 ft) above the lake you will enjoy an astonishing view. Return to the town centre and end your tour at the Duomo.
Day 3 - Como to Verona via Sirmione Lake Garda
After check out, meet your private English speaking driver for your journey to Verona. On the way, you will stop to visit Sirmione, the "Pearl of Lake Garda". This town is built on a peninsula that projects into the Lake and is famed for its medieval beauty as well as its breathtaking natural surroundings.
You will enjoy some free time to explore the town on your own before rejoining your driver and continuing on to Verona.
Day 4 - Verona City Tour
With your local guide you will explore Verona, commonly known as the setting for Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet. The rich history of the city extends to Roman times.
Still enclosed by ancient walls, Verona conserves an atmosphere that evokes a past of medieval and Renaissance splendour. The main monuments you will visit are: Duomo, Piazza delle Erbe with the famous high tower, Torre dei Lamberti, Piazza Bra dominated by the enormous Arena and the house of Juliet, with its famous balcony.
The afternoon is free for you to relax, or perhaps do a little shopping in Verona's elegant stores.
Day 5 - Verona to Venice via Valpolicella
After check out this morning, your driver will be waiting to continue your tour towards Venice. Your route will take you through the picturesque Valpolicella wine region with its world famous wines.
You will visit an evocative and historical winery, where you can taste the different local wines, including the famous Amarone.
At the end of the visit you will continue through the Veneto Region to Venice. Upon arrival at Venice Piazzale Roma you will be transferred by private boat to your hotel.
Day 6 - Venice City Tour
Venice's charm lies both in its unique civil engineering achievements, and in the harmony of Eastern and Western artistic styles that have flourished here over the centuries.
Your private guided city tour will include some of the major sights that define the look and history of Venice, Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica and St. Mark's Square.
Balance of day free for your independent activities.
Day 7 - Venice to Florence
Upon check out from the hotel this morning, your English speaking representatives will transfer you to the Venice rail station. You will have first class rail tickets with seat reservations on the comfortable Eurostar train for the three hour trip from Venice to Florence.
Upon your arrival in Florence, your local English speaking driver will greet you at the head of the platform. You will then be transferred by private car to your hotel in the city.
The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy as you please.
Day 8 - Florence City Tour
This morning your English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel to take you on a private walking tour of the city. Florence's rich past as the cultural centre of the Italian Renaissance can still be seen today in the wealth of art gathered here, and in the preservation of its splendid architecture. The tour includes visits of the Duomo and the Baptistry, the Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, and the famous Accademia Gallery (entrance fees included).
Day 9 - Florence to Rome via Siena
After check out, depart with your private English speaking driver/guide for Siena and Rome.
In Siena, one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Tuscany, you will tour with your local guide visiting the main sights including the famous Piazza del Campo, sight of the Palio horse race.
After the tour you will have time for lunch and some shopping or independent sightseeing before continuing on to Rome and your next hotel.
Day 10 - Ancient Rome
A fascinating private half day tour of the wonders of the Ancient Romans transports you back to the days of the Caesars and the Roman legions.
Together with your local guide you will visit the Circus Maximus, sight of Ben Hur style races, the Roman forum and the incomparable Colosseum.
Afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 11 - Vatican Tour
Your fascinating half day private tour of the Vatican starts in the galleries of the Vatican museum, home to the most celebrated art collection in Europe. The museum tour ends in the spectacular Sistine Chapel, the extreme expression of Michelangelo's genius.
Last but not least, visit the largest sanctuary of Christianity, St. Peter's Basilica, where proportions appear to have been forgotten in an amazing triumph of marble, bronze and mosaic works.
The balance of the day is at your leisure.
Day 12 - Arrivederci Italia
After check out from the hotel, your local English speaking driver and assistant will pick you up for your private transfer to the Rome Airport for your departing flight.

Shortly after your initial contact with our tour designers, you will receive a draft proposal based on your earlier discussions, normally within 2 business days. This proposal is a no obligation draft for your review and comments. Any additions or modifications will be implemented and a new proposal will be forwarded to you for approval.
3) You like what you see!
Upon meeting your requirements and expectations, you will be requested to send a deposit in the amount of 25% of total. Final Payment is due 45 days prior to scheduled departure date.
4) Buon viaggio!
Approximately, 2 weeks prior to departure you will receive a personalized and detailed day by day itinerary booklet and the necessary vouchers for the services to be provided, along with a general information section on the various regions of Italy.
The booklet and vouchers will include all the important information; addresses, phone & mobile numbers for all your service providers, hotels as well as the phone number of our office in Rome.
