Visit of Sorrento

This morning you will be met at the Naples port by your driver for your excursion to Pompeii and Sorrento. Your private local guide will meet you upon your arrival at the archeological park in Pompeii. A major historical site, Pompeii holds a great deal of wonder for visitors of all kinds.

The city lay buried and forgotten for hundreds of years following a volcanic eruption at Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 A.D. Excavations began in the 18th century and are still being carried out today, as archeological treasures unearthed in this city - one of the great Wonders of the World. Your guide will take you slowly through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii where you can see Baths, Forums and Villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 B.C. Marvel at the fabulously preserved frescoes which adorn the walls and floors of the villas. Even if your interests do not lie in history, this archaeological site cannot fail to impress you. Once you have completed your tour of Pompeii, you will continue to the lovely scenic town of Sorrento. You will have some time to spend here exploring the charming city center and taking in the breathtaking view over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri. After taking some time to explore the town of Sorrento, you will return to the Naples port and your cruise ship.
