From Monticiano, you will leave in the direction of the ancient road "La antica strada Maremmana."

This will take you to the Pian di Campora, paralleling and crossing several times the Fosso Laccera.
Eventually, you'll finally see the Cistercense Abbacy of San Galgano and the nearby Romanic Pieve of Montesiepi, home of the Sword in the Stone and a group of freschos by Ambrogio Lornezetti.
From here you will retrace your steps until the bridge over the Merse River and ride on a dirt road until you return to Monticiano
