This morning your driver will meet you for a fascinating full day excursion to Pompeii. Pompeii was buried for hundreds of years after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Excavations were started in the 18th century and are still being carried out today. Together with a private guide you will be transported back in time in this wonderfully preserved Roman city. Your guide will take you slowly through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii, where you can see Baths, Forums and Villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 B.C. Marvel at the fabulously preserved frescoes which adorn the walls and floors of the villas.
