Discovering Classic Lucca

Lucca, the medieval walled city has historically stayed in the shadows of its polictical rivals Pisa, Florence and Siena. It has instead focused its attention on economic prosperity which even today can be seen in a standard of living which in not easily matched in other Tuscan towns.You will begin your guided tour where the residents of Lucca spend their free time: on the city wall topped by a line of shady trees. Your first stop is San Frediano Church, with its magnificent thirteenth century mosaic, representing Christ in Majesty, and an amazing facade.Next, you visit nearby Piazza del Anfiteatro, the most beautiful square of Lucca. Passing by the elegant shops of Via Filungo and through small medieval streets, you reach the Duomo that houses the famous Volto Santo and a splendid marble sarcophagi, a masterpiece of Jacopo della Quercia. Passing Piazza Napoleone with its distinctive French outlook, you finally arrive at Piazza San Michele, the central civic square of Lucca since Roman times.

Shortly after your initial contact with our tour designers, you will receive a draft proposal based on your earlier discussions, normally within 2 business days. This proposal is a no obligation draft for your review and comments. Any additions or modifications will be implemented and a new proposal will be forwarded to you for approval.

3) You like what you see!

Upon meeting your requirements and expectations, you will be requested to send a deposit in the amount of 25% of total. Final Payment is due 45 days prior to scheduled departure date.

4) Buon viaggio!

Approximately, 2 weeks prior to departure you will receive a personalized and detailed day by day itinerary booklet and the necessary vouchers for the services to be provided, along with a general information section on the various regions of Italy.

The booklet and vouchers will include all the important information; addresses, phone & mobile numbers for all your service providers, hotels as well as the phone number of our office in Rome.
