The city of St. Francis, its rose stone buildings, winding narrow streets, palaces and spectacular views convey a truly special feeling. Meet your private English speaking driver to Assisi. We suggest a visit to the church of Santa Chiara where St. Francis was born, Piazza del Comune, Palazzo dei Priori, Palazzo del Popolo and the Temple of Minerva. You will continue to the St. Francis Basilica and visit the Tomb of St. Francis and the beautiful fresco masterpieces of Giotto and Cimabue. The complex of the basilica is composed of two churches built one above the other, the lower one dating from 1228-1230 and the upper one from 1230-1253 and a crypt which houses the Saint's tomb. The Lower Basilica is enriched by frescoes of the greatest painters of the 13th and 14th centuries: Cimabue, Giotto, Lorenzetti and Simone Martini. The Upper Basilica is adorned by Giotto's frescoes illustrating the life of St. Francis.You will then be taken to the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, where St. Francis lived and died. You will also visit the Porziuncola Chapel. You will also have free time to wander and sightseeg on your own.

Shortly after your initial contact with our tour designers, you will receive a draft proposal based on your earlier discussions, normally within 2 business days. This proposal is a no obligation draft for your review and comments. Any additions or modifications will be implemented and a new proposal will be forwarded to you for approval.

3) You like what you see!

Upon meeting your requirements and expectations, you will be requested to send a deposit in the amount of 25% of total. Final Payment is due 45 days prior to scheduled departure date.

4) Buon viaggio!

Approximately, 2 weeks prior to departure you will receive a personalized and detailed day by day itinerary booklet and the necessary vouchers for the services to be provided, along with a general information section on the various regions of Italy.

The booklet and vouchers will include all the important information; addresses, phone & mobile numbers for all your service providers, hotels as well as the phone number of our office in Rome.
