Meet your private guide at designated meeting point at the Colosseum. Your tour will begin with a visit of St. Peter in Chains Basilica. The Basilica contains the chains that are believed to have held St. Peter prisoner by the Romans. You will also view Michelangelo's magnificent statue of Moses. From the Basilica you will continue to the Colosseum. Here you will be transported back in time as you visit the interior, the site of legendary battles of the gladiators.Your walking tour will continue to the Roman Forum where you will explore the ruins of this ancient political, religious and commercial center. You will climb to the Palatine hill, the legendary site of the birth of the city which overlooks the Circus Maximus. Your tour will end at the Capitoline Hill where once stood the holiest Roman temples, the Temple to Jupiter and the Capitoline Triad: Jupiter, Juno, and their daughter Minerva. After the walk, you will be free to continue on your own to nearby Piazza Venezia and the Via Del Corso with its amazing shopping.
