Classical Italy From Venice - Budget

Day 1: Venice

Upon your arrival to Venice Airport, our local representative will be waiting to greet you. You will be transferred by private motor launch to your hotel in the city.

The balance of this first day is at leisure. Relax after your trip, or begin to explore the sights of this extraordinary city.

Day 2: Venice Tour

09:00am Meet the group at the APT office in St. Marks Square.

We will start with an introduction of the history and origins of Venice, and a visit to the St. Mark's Church from the year 832 d.C., built to protect the body of evangelist St. Mark brought to Venice from Alessandria.

From the Doge's Palace, where the Doge lived, we will cross through the Bridge of Sighs, built in the year 1600, to arrive at the Prison's Palace .

At the end of the tour you can visit the artistic glass factory in Murano Island to admire the creation masterpieces (optional visit)

Day 3: Venice - Florence

After check-out from your hotel this morning, our representative will transfer you to the rail station for your train to Florence. You will have first class rail tickets with seat reservations. The journey will take two and a half hours on the comfortable Eurostar train.

Upon arrival in Florence you will be met by your driver who will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy.

Day 4: Florence

08:50am - 9:00am The bus will pick you up at your hotel

You will drive to Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the wonderful panoramic view of the city.

Going back to the old centre for the walking tour of the historical centre. The tour will continue with the guided visit of the Duomo Complex: Giotto's bell tower (external visit), the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso, and the internal visit of the Cathedral* with the magnificent Cupola of Brunelleschi.

Walking through the heart of Florence we will reach the Galleria Dell'Accademia** to admire David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist.

* Cannot be visited on Sundays, bank and public holidays. ** Closed on Monday. Replaced with the visit of the Bargello museum or the Medici Chapels.

Day 5: Pisa

Morning at leisure to explore Florence on your own.

1:00pm - 1:15pm You the bus will pick you up at your hotel for your half day excursion to Pisa.

A magnificent excursion through the fertile Tuscan countryside to the historic city of Pisa which was one of the known four Marine Republics. After the panoramic drive the tour will continue with a guided visit of the famous Piazza dei Miracoli; the Leaning Tower , the Baptistery, and other important monuments. Before leaving the city we will visit the Cathedral, a masterpiece of Romanesque art built between the 11th and 12th century.

Return to Florence .
